London Philharmonic Orchestra

London Philharmonic Orchestra

Presented by Saffron Hall

Nicola Benedetti.

After the dynamic success of their previous season-opening concerts, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Principal Conductor Vladimir Jurowski return once again to launch our season. They perform Bruckner’s most popular symphony, a musical depiction of a day of hunting which leads the listener from a beautiful representation of sunrise, through the excitement of the day, to the chase itself. Nicola Benedetti, another firm Saffron Hall favourite, performs Brahms’s only Violin Concerto, a masterpiece of the repertoire which marries breathless Magyar dance-rhythms with an exquisitely tender and noble lyricism.

This concert will finish at approximately 9.45pm
