Sibelius described his Symphony No.2 as a “confession of the soul”, and in the hands of LPO’s new Principal Conductor Edward Gardner, it is sure to be a thrilling showcase.

They are joined by one of Europe’s most sought-after and versatile soloists, cellist Nicolas Altstaedt. First, though, Lili Boulanger rings up the curtain with a memory of spring for an autumn day.
